FAQ
How is this different from other press-ons?+
Most press-ons fall into two camps: cheap ones you wear once and bin, or expensive, salon-applied gel sets sold purely on how many weeks they'll stay on. Ours are different — you wear them on your own terms, whenever you want that look. Think hair extensions and quality lash strips: millions of women already do exactly this, for exactly this reason — a completely different look for one night, back to normal by morning, no salon appointment, no weeks-long commitment, ready to wear again next time. Nails work exactly the same way now: handmade, small-batch, easy on, easy off, and yours to keep for the next time you want them.
Press-on nails vs acrylic or gel nails — what's the difference?+
Acrylics and gels are applied and removed by a technician, involve filing down your natural nail, and are built to stay on for weeks — that's the commitment. Press-ons go on and come off yourself, in minutes, whenever you choose. Ours specifically are handmade and reusable, so you're not trading 'looks good' for 'lasts' — you're just choosing when you want to wear them.
Are press-on nails bad for your nails?+
No, not done properly. In some ways they're gentler than gel or acrylic extensions, which require filing your natural nail and an e-file or solvent to remove. Ours use a gel adhesive tab, and removal is always a soak, never a peel or scrape — that's what keeps it non-damaging, no matter how many times a set gets reused.
Can you shower or do the dishes wearing press-on nails?+
Yes, once they're properly applied — just avoid water for the first 2–4 hours while the adhesive fully bonds. After that, normal water exposure (showering, washing up) is fine. It's only prolonged soaking — which is literally how you remove them — that will eventually loosen the bond.
How do you make press-on nails last longer?+
A few things help: avoid water for the first few hours after applying, push your cuticles back and buff your natural nail first so the adhesive has a clean surface to grip, avoid using your nails as tools (opening cans, scratching off labels), and when you're ready to remove them, always soak rather than peel — that's what lets you wear the same set again.
What happens if a set sells out?+
Every design is made in a small handmade batch, not mass-produced or restocked on demand. Once a batch sells out, that design is unavailable until we make another — we don't take pre-orders for sold-out designs, and can't promise a restock date. The Atelier is the exception: those designs are made individually to order, one at a time, so they're never stock-limited the same way.
How long does a set actually last?+
However long you want. Most sets go 5–7 days before a touch-up (day 4–5 if your hands are in water a lot), but a single night works just as well — removal is always gentle on your natural nail either way.
Can I reuse a set?+
Yes — with careful removal (soak, never peel) and proper storage between wears, a set can be worn many times over. 10 or more wears is not unusual with good care.
How do I apply them?+
Push back cuticles, lightly buff the natural nail, match sizes, apply adhesive tab or glue, press and hold 20 seconds per nail. A full guide ships with every set.
How do I remove them without damaging my natural nails?+
Soak in warm soapy water for 10 minutes, then gently ease from the side — never pull from the tip. Forcing a lift damages the nail bed underneath, not the press-on.
What if I'm between sizes?+
Go smaller. A slightly narrow fit is barely noticeable and still adheres properly — too large is far more likely to lift at the edges. See the full Size Guide for more.
